Underwear That Just Fits: A Tale of Two Pairs

Underwear That Just Fits: A Tale of Two Pairs

If you’ve ever sewn your own underwear, you know the magic moment: that first pair that fits so well you immediately decide, Yep. This is my pattern now. For me, that pattern is the Wonder Undies by Waves and Wild. I’ve tried others, I’ve experimented, I’ve wandered — but I always end up right back here. They’re comfortable, reliable, and now officially the only undies pattern I use.

Of course, I’ve added my own twist. These days I sew mine with an extra low‑rise layer in the front, purely to help with that under‑apron belly sweating situation. Practicality meets comfort, and honestly, it’s a game changer.

Meanwhile, MrSassy has his own daily uniform: overalls. Every day. Office days, field days, all the days. And while overalls are great for durability, they’re not exactly known for being gentle on the skin. His solution? A pair of Boxerwear by SUAT to add a soft layer between briefs and workwear. It’s the perfect buffer and keeps him comfortable whether he’s typing away or climbing around equipment.

Now, let’s talk fabric — because you know I love a bold design. This round we went with the delightfully irreverent Naughty Fanny Folk Art for his pair and Naughty Peen Folk Art for mine. These prints were part of preorder Round G‑26, and like all preorder designs, they’re available for reprint anytime. If you missed the round, don’t worry — you can still grab them.

And if you want to see the rest of the designs that featured in that preorder, they’re all showcased in the Facebook group. It’s a treasure trove of creativity, inspiration, and occasionally very cheeky fabric choices.

Comfortable undies, fun prints, and a bit of sewing joy — honestly, what more could you want from a sewing project?
